What’s new in the library?

Carrie Brown, Director of Educational Information Services
“Mrs. Brown, is <insert any title here> back today? I want to check it out!”

Few things bring me more joy than hearing students walk into the library already excited about the books they want to read. Getting to know each child and their reading interests has been one of the greatest delights of my work here.

Over the past year, our library has seen some exciting updates. While the furniture may have been rearranged, our wonderful collection of books for Trinity students remains as strong as ever. Thanks to the Trinity Charger Alliance Grants, we were also able to purchase clear bins and displays that make it easier for students to “shop” for books and discover new favorites.

Another exciting change launched last spring: our new library website. You can find it on the Trinity School Resource Board under “Library.” The site includes:
  • A link to our online catalog, Destiny Discover

  • Resources for eBooks and audiobooks

  • Access to Sora by Overdrive, a free app with hundreds of digital titles. (Even better—you can connect Sora to the Midland County Public Library for thousands more!)

  • A tutorial page to help families get started with these digital resources

  • The Library Collection Development Policy and Handbook

As I begin my second year serving our school community in the library, I am deeply grateful to be part of a place that values and celebrates reading and storytelling. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions—or stop by the library to take a peek at what’s new!

With gratitude,
Carrie Brown
