World Languages

Trinity School’s dedication to world language education represents one of several key components of the total academic curricula setting the School apart. Commitment to world language instruction is important for a variety of reasons. Exposure to and education in a world language is integral to fully understanding one’s native language. Through study of world languages, students are exposed to other cultures and customs, developing understanding, appreciation, and acceptance of others. The purpose of world language education at Trinity School is to prepare our students to participate in the global community. Spanish, French, and Latin are offered.

Faculty spotlight: Mrs. T

Linda Tervooren and Latin students
Mrs. Linda Tervooren is in her 54th year of teaching Latin and her 22nd year of teaching at Trinity School. In college she started to major in medical technology, but felt God leading her in a different direction. She began helping a friend of hers in Latin class and had so much fun she decided to change her major to that.  She has taken nineteen trips to Europe with students, six of those with Trinity students. Her husband of more than 47 years, Dale, has accompanied her on almost all of those.  He is a retired math teacher and often subsitutes at Trinity. She loves spending time with her three children and three "outrageously wonderful and smart" grandsons Declan, Liam, and Preston. She loves to camp, read, travel, but most of all, teach Latin.
