  I taught 30 years with Midland Independent School District and 6 years in Rockford Illinois.   A few years at home, led me to want something challenging. I applied to sub at Trinity, fell in love with the school, the people, and the kids. Several years later I find myself teaching English to 9^th graders and enjoying every minute. The age group is fun, challenging, and a little crazy. Working closely with students as they develop their writing and communication skills fascinates me and gives me a sense of accomplishment. At Trinity as a part-time teacher, the smaller number of students allows me the time to work individually with students on their writing. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking, serving on the board of Midland Festival Ballet, traveling to foreign places, go to theater, and taking care of my wife’s and my pets and plants

  Joining the Trinity family from MISD with specialized experience teaching World Literature and English PreAP, Nancy Pannell will be the English Department Chair and an Upper School English Teacher. Trinity Alumni may recognize her as a previous sophomore and senior English teacher at Trinity, and an active volunteer with the Junior League of Midland.

  Chali Patterson has 19 years' teaching experience and has been teaching English/Language Arts at Trinity School since 2014.  Chali Patterson grew up all over the United States - living in 15 different states and 22 different cities by the time she graduated from Lamar High School in Rosenberg, Texas.  Although she never went to high school in Midland, when she relocated here with her mother after graduation, she felt like Midland was home and has lived here ever since.  She played the trumpet and French Horn in high school and was a soloist singer in her high school Stage Band.   Chali Patterson met her husband Monty Patterson here in Midland, and they have twins (Abby and Logan) who attend Trinity School.  And even though there is no spare time between the kids, the pets (2 dogs and 3 cats), and grading research papers, Mrs. Patterson continues to appreciate the arts and anything that is creative.  She enjoys painting, live theater, concerts, gardening, and loves to discuss her favorite movies and TV shows.
