Middle School STUCO Election Procedures

Purpose Statement 

Each class elects representatives to advocate, promote, and organize Trinity Middle School activities. Representatives attend scheduled meetings, voice student concerns, and plan activities for Middle School students. 

Rules for Election  
  1. Self-Nomination Forms are open Friday, September 5th, and are due  Monday, September 8th at 4 pm.  No late applications will be accepted. Students may follow up with committee members to ensure applications have been received. 
  2. No campaign materials, objects, speeches, food… ANYTHING. Any campaigning other than the video can result in dismissal from the election. 
  3. Applicants will be notified via email on September 11, 2025, letting them know if they will be a candidate for the 2025/2026 Middle School Student Council.
  4. Teachers' nominations can only be from Trinity Middle School Teachers. 5th Graders may use 4th Grade Trinity Teachers. 
  5. The video must be no longer than two minutes. Videos are due at 4 pm,  September 17, 2025. Every candidate must turn in a video on time. Candidates who do not turn in a video on time will be disqualified. EXAMPLE OF VIDEO
  6. Elections will occur during advisory on Thursday, September 25. 
  7. Announcements will be made on Friday, September 26th. 
  8. If one grade level does not have enough qualified candidates to fill the available positions, those positions will be filled by 8th-grade candidates representing that grade level.
