Building and Recognizing Greatness Together

As we begin this school year, one of our Lower School focuses is Building Greatness Together. Over the first several days of school, students have been learning new routines, navigating new spaces, building relationships, and settling into what it means to be part of our Lower School community.

Last week in chapel, I shared Tell Me About Your Greatness! by Sarah How with our students. The book invited us to think about the many different ways greatness can show up in each of us, through qualities such as kindness, creativity, courage, helpfulness, responsibility, perseverance, and more. Each Lower School classroom now has a copy of the book so teachers and students can continue those conversations throughout the year. 

We are also finding ways to intentionally recognize the greatness we see in our students. Any adult on campus can give a student a Golden Ticket when they notice that student demonstrating greatness. Golden Tickets are entered into a drawing for prizes on Fridays during lunch, giving us another fun way to celebrate the positive choices and contributions our students make each day.

Building greatness isn’t about being perfect. It is about growing, learning, making good choices, helping others, and noticing the strengths in the people around us. We are excited to spend this year Building and Recognizing Greatness Together! 

As we continue settling into our school-year routines, thank you for helping students arrive each day ready for school and following Lower School dress code expectations.
