Preschool Lunch Reminders

Dear Preschool Families,

As we prepare for the new school year, I wanted to share a few reminders about our preschool lunch program, ordering procedures, and lunchtime routines. While this is a lot of information, following these procedures will help our days run smoothly and ensure a positive lunch experience for everyone.

Preschool Lunch Options
Families have three lunch options to choose from:
  • Pack a lunch from home each day.
  • Enroll in our all-inclusive lunch program.
  • Order school lunch à la carte on a weekly basis.
If your child will be eating school lunch, whether you are enrolled in the all-inclusive lunch program or ordering à la carte, you must complete a lunch order form each week. The lunch menu will be shared every Friday in the Charger, and the lunch order form will close each Friday at 5:30p.m.

I highly recommend setting a recurring reminder on your phone or calendar for Friday morning to submit your child's lunch order for the upcoming week. Meeting the Friday evening deadline allows our kitchen team to order the appropriate amount of food, prepare enough meals for our students, and manage ordering efficiently.

If the Friday 5:30p.m. deadline is missed, your child will need a packed lunch from home for the next week, as we are unable to accommodate late lunch orders.

As a reminder, Trinity School does not accept food deliveries from third-party services such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, or similar companies. If you would like to bring your child a special lunch, you are welcome to personally deliver it to the school, beginning after Labor Day.

Lunch Orders & Billing
To help streamline the lunch process, Correy Roy, Administrative Assistant for Preschool and Lower School, will manage all preschool lunch orders. She will send weekly lunch reminders and will be your primary point of contact for any questions regarding lunch ordering or ordering logistics.

For payment of the all-inclusive lunch program or any à la carte lunch purchases, please work directly with Rebecca Benson in our Business Office.

A Few Preschool Menu Updates
  • Because preschool students will be eating in their carpeted classrooms instead of a tiled lunch room, we have made some adjustments (e.g., no rice on the preschool menu). We're also excited to share that we've expanded our preschool-friendly menu options! Last year we offered one week of preschool-specific meals per month, and this year we will offer two weeks of preschool-friendly menu options, providing even more meals that are easy for our youngest students to enjoy in the classroom.
Lunch Visitors & Communication
As we settle into the routines of the new school year, I also want to gently remind you that Trinity's policy is that parents do not join their children for lunch during the first two weeks of school. This time allows students to become familiar with our lunch routines, build independence, and enjoy the opportunity to bond with their classmates as they share meals together.

After the first two weeks, we are happy to welcome parents to join their child for lunch. If you plan to bring your child a special lunch or join them for lunch, please let your child's teacher know in advance. A quick heads-up helps us ensure a smooth lunchtime by preventing teachers from searching for a missing lunchbox or checking with our kitchen staff about a meal that is no longer needed.

Likewise, our teachers will communicate with you if they notice any concerns with your child's lunch choices. For example, if your child consistently isn't eating a meal that has been ordered, we'll let you know so you can adjust future lunch orders and ensure they're receiving meals they enjoy.

Thank you for your partnership as we establish routines that help our preschoolers become confident, independent learners. We appreciate your support and look forward to a wonderful year together!

Warmly,

Megan Irwin
