Welcome Back, Friends! The Future is Under Construction.

Dear Middle School Families,

The countdown is on, and I could not be more excited to kick off another year of Middle School magic!
This year, our school-wide theme is Constructing the Future, and I cannot think of a more fitting theme for the season ahead. As many of you know, Trinity is literally under construction as we begin the exciting process of tearing down and rebuilding our Lower School. While there will certainly be a few extra fences, hard hats, slower carpool lines, and maybe even some dust along the way, what an incredible opportunity we have to witness growth in action.

In many ways, our students are under construction, too. Every day, they are building friendships, confidence, character, leadership skills, resilience, and dreams for the future. They are taking risks, solving problems, and discovering who God created them to be. Like any great construction project, growth can be messy and uncertain, but it also brings exciting breakthroughs and moments when we step back and realize something amazing has been built.

As we begin this school year together, I want to thank our families in advance for your flexibility, patience, and partnership during this exciting season of growth for Trinity School. The construction around us is a visible reminder that we are investing in the future of our students, and I am grateful to be part of a community that continues to dream big.

I would be remiss if I did not brag on our amazing Middle School teachers. They are truly the heart of our division. Each day, they bring enthusiasm, creativity, patience, and a genuine love for students. They celebrate successes, walk alongside students through challenges, and create environments where children feel known, valued, and encouraged to grow. I am grateful every day for the talent, dedication, and servant-hearted leadership they bring to our school. Our students are incredibly fortunate to learn from such an exceptional group of educators.

We are also excited to welcome two new teachers to our Middle School family this year. Kelly Emsoff will teach 5th and 6th Grade Writing, and Courtney Taylor will teach 7th and 8th Grade Latin. Both bring wonderful experience, enthusiasm, and a heart for students, and I know they will be fantastic additions to our already exceptional team. I look forward to introducing them more fully and watching them quickly become part of the joy, energy, and organized chaos that make our Middle School so special!

This year will be filled with opportunities for our students to learn, lead, serve, create, explore, and grow. Together, we will enrich minds through curiosity and discovery, strengthen bodies through challenge and perseverance, enliven souls through faith and connection, and inspire servant leadership through acts of kindness and service. Along the way, our students will continue constructing the skills, confidence, and character that will help shape their futures.

Middle school is a little bit of organized chaos, a little bit of adventure, a little bit of a construction zone, and a whole lot of heart.

I cannot wait to hear laughter fill our hallways again, see students reconnect with friends, welcome new families, and watch another group of amazing young people continue constructing their futures, one day, one lesson, and one experience at a time.

For our 5th Grade parents and families who are new to Trinity, I invite you to attend Middle School Parent Orientation on Monday, August 17, at 5:30 p.m. in the Commons. If you are a 5th Grade parent who attended the orientation in May, there is no need to attend again, as the same information will be shared. We look forward to welcoming you and helping your family feel prepared for the year ahead!

Hold on tight, Friends. It is going to be a fantastic year!

Gratefully,
Chrystal Myers

Even this letter was a small construction project! ChatGPT helped me organize and polish my thoughts, while the heart behind every word is entirely my own.
