Dr. Premila Johnson '94

Dr. Premila Johnson was born in Midland, Texas, to Dr. Tulsi and Mrs. Claudette Singh.
Dr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity University where she double-majored in Biology and Religion. She was awarded the degree Doctor of Medicine with Honors in 2002 from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Johnson returned to Midland in 2006 and worked for Drs. Joe and Carolyn Rhode, first at the Community Children’s Clinic, and then at Midland Family Physicians for six years. She opened her own Internal Medicine practice in 2012. In 2015, she was named a Texas Monthly Super Docs Rising Star and this year was named Best in the Basin: Family Practice. Dr. Johnson has participated in various civic functions, including Midland’s Vision 2020, serving on the MARC board, and most recently, joining the board of Midland Festival Ballet. She continues to be an incredible leader for her alma mater, including recently finishing a term on the Trinity Board of Trustees. For the past five years, she has served as the Chair of the Trinity Alumni Association. Dr. Johnson officially inducts the graduating seniors to the Alumni Association at the Senior BBQ. She participates in Alumni Career day and various alumni social activities around town. Dr. Johnson co-chaired the William Coombes Endowment, helping to raise over $120,000 in honor of Coach Coombes’ 40 years of service to Trinity School. She also started the Kristyn Stone Memorial Scholarship in honor of her best friend and classmate. Dr. Johnson is married to Chris and they are proud Trinity parents to three children, first graders Mia and Sophia and Chase, who is in K3.
