Carrie Brown

Head of Preschool and Lower School

“Trinity creates a nurturing environment . . . where any child can grow, learn, and become the best version of themselves.”
Carrie Brown began her career at Trinity School as a Middle School science teacher in 2002, just a few short years after graduating from Texas A&M University. Over the past seventeen years, she has been given what she calls “the honor and privilege” to serve Trinity School, its students, and its faculty across all divisions. She has been able to take advantage of opportunities to grow professionally and further her education while at the School. During her time here, she obtained her Principal Certification, completed a year-long training to become a Reading Recovery Teacher, and finished a three-year program to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist.

From 2012-2014, she served as the Head of the Intermediate School. In 2014, she made the transition from division head to a role as the school’s Curriculum Specialist, working with all divisions to design and align curriculum. Most recently, she has served as the Director of Curriculum and Technology. The 2019-2020 school year will see her in still another position, that of Head of Preschool and Lower School. Carrie believes that a nurturing environment, when paired with sound pedagogy, excellent instruction, and content area expertise, creates an environment where any child can grow, learn, and become the best version of themselves. She and the Trinity community are looking forward to her leadership in the School’s younger grade levels.

A native Midlander, Carrie devours books in her spare time, golfs, and devotes herself to her husband, Kevin, and two daughters, Mary and Ashlin. The family travels to Ireland frequently to visit Kevin’s family there.
